Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, eLearning, the incumbent will be charged with enhancing online/virtual/multimedia learning experiences for all stakeholders by developing and designing the graphic/technological interface for all required mediums/projects. This will include online courses, websites, mobile apps, and virtual environments. The incumbent is responsible for producing AODA compliant materials that are engaging and stimulating for all audience members, while meeting all College marketing standards, and incorporating current industry standards in design, aesthetics, and relevancy. The incumbent will also function as a main producer of promotional/resources materials, magazine/pamphlet content, department publications, and marketplace/showcase materials. The incumbent is required to work within the College’s branding standards and maintain an awareness of current trends in graphic/digital arts and computer design, publishing and multimedia industries.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a 3 year diploma/degree in Graphic Design, Web Design or Multimedia Design and Production. Two years of professional experience in a visual communications environment emphasizing graphic design, web development along with multimedia creation and production skills is also required. Excellent communication and collaboration skills as well as the ability to work well independently are essential. Experience with typography, print design, colour theory and emotion design are considered an asset. The successful incumbent will also have experience with animation software and movie-creation software (i.e. VideoScribe), familiarity with both Mac and PC platforms is required. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is also considered an asset although not required.
