Psychology Thesis Advisor
The successful candidate will work with the Thesis Instructor and fourth year Psychology students at the University of Guelph-Humber to supervise students in preparing a Thesis proposal in the fall semester and carrying out their research, as proposed, during the winter semester. Responsibilities will include: facilitating the completion of the thesis paper; participating in assigning grades; and making use of proficiency in a specific sub-discipline within Psychology in order to philosophically and pragmatically guide and facilitate student research. During the fall semester, the incumbent will review proposal drafts and Research Ethics Board submissions in order to provide constructive feedback to the student. During the winter semester, the incumbent will establish, with the student, a schedule of routine meetings and goals, such that if followed, the student will be positioned to submit a final draft of the thesis paper toward the conclusion of the winter semester.
The successful candidate will possess a Doctoral Degree in Psychology, and will have research experience. Preference will be given to those with a current research program. Additional qualifications include: demonstrated initiative; strong oral and written communication skills; the ability to work in a diverse, dynamic, and multicultural environment with scarce resources; and superior interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation and communication skills.
