Professor, Bachelor of Interior Design
The successful candidate will be required to teach courses in the Interior Design Degree program at the North campus. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include: curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; and class management. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement. The candidate will be expected to further develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber College/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. This individual will also contribute to the overall direction of the program, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the program, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.
The successful candidate will have a relevant Design degree at the Doctorate or Master’s level and hold an NCDIQ certification with a minimum of five years of teaching experience. In addition, the successful candidate will possess well-developed interpersonal communication and problem solving skills; and demonstrated ability in curriculum development and delivery; a demonstrated teaching ability and an understanding of the learning process required, along with exceptional organizational skills. Progressive teaching experience and industry contacts are assets. Must be a team player dedicated to student success.
