The successful candidates will be required to teach courses in the UNB-Humber Collaborative Bachelor of Nursing program at the North campus. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include: curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; and class management. The successful candidates will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member. In addition, the successful applicants will be expected to play an active role in student advising and supervising clinical placement activities. The candidates will be expected to further develop and maintain strong links with professional associations and practice settings, as well as participate on Humber College/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. These individuals will also contribute to the overall direction of the program and may also be responsible for assisting with program promotion.
The successful candidates will have a graduate credentials in nursing, with doctoral preparation (either completed or in progress) in Nursing Science being preferred. The successful candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, including specialty area practice experience and must be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Additional qualifications include: a demonstrated ability in curriculum development and delivery, an understanding of, and competency in, the teaching/learning of the profession with a learner centered approach; a demonstrated commitment to team and inter/intraprofessional collaboration within a scholarly community; a primary health care philosophy and innovative educational approach; well-developed interpersonal communication and problem solving skills, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
