Coordinator, Leadership Programs
Reporting to the Manager, Transition and Leadership Programs, the incumbent will coordinate the daily activities of the various student leadership programs and training initiatives offered by Student Life at any one of Humber College’s three campuses. This will include the Student Leadership Academy, leadership workshops and events, and all leader and volunteer training including Collaborative Training and development. In that respect, the Coordinator will develop and deliver training modules to the various types of leaders engaged in Student Life programs and also offer sessions open to all students looking to enhance their leadership capacity. They will also coordinate all student leader recognition activities and play a supportive role in the implementation of the co-curricular record.
The successful candidate will possess a three year diploma or degree in Education, Psychology, Public Relations, Social Work, Human Development, Leadership Theory, or Student Development Theory. Experience in a post-secondary institution is valued, along with experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating student programs and training modules. Experience in presenting workshops on topics including diversity, leadership, and conflict mediation and experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds is an asset. Additional skills include: strong presentation skills, awareness of best practices in the field, knowledge of theories of instructional design and delivery, and knowledge of student and leadership development theory.
