Professor, Massage Therapy
The successful candidate will be required to teach courses in the Massage Therapy program at the North campus. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include: curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; and class management. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement. The candidate will be expected to further develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber College/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. This individual will also contribute to the overall direction of the program, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the program, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.
The successful candidate will have a relevant undergraduate degree, a minimum of five years of work experience as a Registered Massage Therapist and a minimum of three years of teaching experience. Further, the successful candidate will understand the importance of evidence informed practice, the research process, and outcome based massage. In addition, the successful candidate will possess well-developed interpersonal communication, teamwork and problem solving skills; and have demonstrated curriculum development, delivery and teaching ability, an understanding of the learning process, and be dedicated to student success.
