Senior Project Manager
The Senior Project Manager works in a self-directed manner to manage a portfolio of complex corporate wide projects. They are responsible for direction, planning and management of a portfolio of projects that impact the entire organization at all campuses. The Senior PM will liaise with senior faculty, staff, students and external partners to deliver the portfolio of projects with excellence in quality, on time and on budget. They will be engaged in projects, including, but not limited to, hardware, software, infrastructure and business process projects. The incumbent will be working with the Senior ITS Leadership Team and IT Project Governance committees to refine and clarify project scope and objectives, identify all linkages and dependencies, deal with cross-disciplinary issues and develop strategies to achieve project results. Additionally, they will be able to think strategically and provide guidance to a team of Project Managers.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Project Management or equivalent training and experience. PMP certification is required; along with a minimum of 7 years of work-related experience, (experience in the education sector is preferred). The incumbent will demonstrate outstanding leadership skills, combined with respect for decision-making through consultation and consensus building. They will have the ability to manage both matrix and direct line teams; they have the ability to communicate a vision and command respect within the college as a result of the their education, experience, achievements, honesty and integrity. Additional qualifications include the capacity to interact effectively with senior college officials as well as unionized and non-unionized staff and the ability to work with a variety of project management tools, including Microsoft project.
