Public Relations Manager
Under the direction of the Dean, School of Hospitality Recreation and Tourism, the Public Relations Manager will provide a range of multi-faceted functions to support the school’s visibility and development of strategic partnerships. The scope of the Public Relations Manager role encompasses: social media presence and website maintenance for both the school and individual programs; design and production of school, program and retail marketing materials and packaging; development, maintenance and communication of school partnerships; and coordination and execution of school and program events. In addition, this position provides administrative support to the Dean.
The successful candidate will possess a degree majoring in Public Relations or Marketing alongside five years of progressive industry experience including a focus in social media, web and print material design. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are imperative. The successful candidate will have exceptional organizational skills and will have proven ability to prioritize and deliver outcomes within short time frames. The candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills and have a proven record of collaboration demonstrating initiative and teamwork skills. Additional qualifications include: experience with materials/project costing and financial management; ability to interface with industry partners; proven social media experience and established presence; experience with web design and maintenance, print material design and production; proficiency with database software for maintenance of confidential customer/ partnership records; proficiency in Excel, MS Publisher, Photoshop, Microsoft Project, and Prezi; and the ability to promote good working relationships with both academic and non-academic staff.
