Under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective administration of projects that impact one or a few departments in the organization. The incumbent will liaise with faculty, staff, students and external partners to deliver the project on time and on budget. They will be engaged in projects including, but not limited to, hardware, software, infrastructure and business process projects. The Project Manager will be working with the ITS Management team and with staff to refine and clarify project scope and objectives, identify all linkages and dependencies with other projects and develop strategies to successfully achieve project results.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Project Management or equivalent training and experience; must be working towards CAPM or PMP Certification. Experience in the education sector is preferred, along with a minimum of 3 year of work-related experience. The incumbent will demonstrate strong leadership skills, and will have the ability to build consensus to facilitate decision making through consultation. They will be comfortable managing matrix project teams. They have the ability to communicate effectively and gain the respect of clients because of their education, experience, achievements, honesty and integrity. Additional qualifications include the ability to work with a variety of project management tools including Microsoft Project and the ability to adapt to an environment where change is frequent and process ambiguity exists.
