Professor, Creative Advertising
The successful candidate will be required to teach courses in the Bachelor of Creative Advertising program at the Lakeshore campus. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include: curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; and class management. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement. The candidate will be expected to further develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber College/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. This individual will also contribute to the overall direction of the program, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the program, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Master’s degree in a related field (PhD preferred) from a recognized post-secondary institution, 8-10 years of related advertising, marketing and communications experience, along with a highly successful post-secondary teaching background. An ability to teach a variety of courses in the programs would be an asset. Well-developed interpersonal communication and problem solving skills are required, as is demonstrated ability in curriculum development and delivery. The applicant is also expected to have superior written and oral communication skills, mediation skills, commitment to teamwork, the ability to work in a diverse and dynamic multicultural environment with limited resources, a high degree of attention and focus to detail. As well, candidates should possess strong industry ties; have an understanding of and competency in the teaching/learning profession with a learning-centred approach; exhibit a strong commitment to ongoing professional development; possess excellent presentation, organizational skills; have the ability to facilitate field placements, and a clear commitment to a strong customer service orientation. Membership in a sector-related association would be an asset.
