Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) has changed. The new system, WHMIS 2015, has been fully in effect since Dec. 1, 2018, and includes updated hazard classes, new hazard pictograms and new supplier label and safety data sheet requirements.

WHMIS training is mandatory for Humber employees who work with hazardous materials, work in areas where hazardous materials are used, or supervise others who work with or handle hazardous materials.

To register for the online WHMIS course, please contact healthandsafety@humber.ca and provide the following information:

• First & Last name
• Employee number (n-number)
• Department / Faculty
• Manager / Assoc. Dean name
• Start date of employment/contract
