Training & Organization DevelopmentHumber's vision is to provide excellence in polytechnic education. In order to achieve that, several goals were developed, one of which is of utmost importance to all employees. This goal states that we will "enable employees to reach their personal potential to meet the changing learning and service needs of Humber's students and clients." Training & Organization Development in the HR Services Department, supports this goal directly by researching, designing, developing and delivering a wide variety of workshops, seminars and professional development opportunities for employees. We strive to ensure every workshop we offer is job-related, skills-based, current and delivered in an engaging, learner-centred manner. Workshops are led by either in-house trainers or appropriate external consultants, and topics are modularized (often 3 hours in length) so they can be expanded if required to more fully meet the needs of the particular employee group. Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)We know that many employees actively engage in opportunities to stay ahead of changes in their field and enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities. Often they will pursue undergraduate and graduate level programs and require some financial assistance to do so. Humber's Professional Development Council has designed and developed a Tuition Assistance Program to assist these full-time employees. A maximum of $1,000. per full-time employee per year is available for tuition fees for post-secondary courses leading to a certificate, diploma, or degree. For more details, please see the Tuition Assistance Program brochure. Spring 2010 Calendar |
